Social Media

Twitter and Facebook are gaining in popularity, however, with about 50% of online users are now active on Facebook as well. The most popular social media sites in China  like kaixin001 and renren are used by many people. Facebook has forbidden by Chinese government. This is the reason why most chinese people do not play Facebook. In Germany, the most popular social media site is StudiVz.

Around the world today, the amount of time spent online is increasing exponentially, especially among cell phone users.

Internet (more than 5 hrs) -spend more times listening to music,

                                       -chatting on QQ or MSN


Reading magzines and newspapers (30 mins)


Checking E-mails and reply (30 mins)


Watching video website (1 hr)  -YouTube
                                            -Tudou (typical chinese video website)


Most Chinese prefer go to Renren rather than Facebook (30 mins)


Sending or Receiving texts (30 mins)
